The Forest of the Phantom Fox

Poems

I have a rough history with poetry. I tend to enjoy the process of it when inspiration strikes, but my schooling made me despise the medium. I have vivid memories of sitting in highschool English class, listening to some spoken word trash the teacher put on, and everyone else nodding and going "oh that's so deep". Because an angry teenager or college student shouting two dozen equivalents of "YOU DON'T KNOW ME >:[" is peak profoundness, apparently. Or some emo kid mumbling lines about 'kids with guns' in front of the school's poetry club.

But it's been well over fifteen years since highschool, and like many other subjects that school taught me to hate (hello, mathematics, you cheeky devil you), poetry is something I want to revisit. So here's a collection of my own work.
