Overview

The Midnight Sector is a lightless planetary system located near the outer rim of Imperial charted space. The system lacks a central star and instead orbits a Class-IV black hole, which provides unstable gravitational conditions and intense radiation interference. The region is considered navigationally hazardous, with high vessel loss rates due to spatial distortion, debris fields, and unreliable communication signals.

Planetary Data

The system contains nine known planetary bodies. Of note is Necra V, a frozen terrestrial world whose moon, Nyx, displays unusual geothermal activity. Despite the Sector's inhospitable nature, Nyx sustains a stable biosphere within subterranean caverns heated by its volcanic core.

Known Inhabitants

Nyx is home to the remnants of the Vampiric Species, descendants of a humanoid race that originated on pre-Imperial Earth. Following the destruction of their homeworld, surviving Vampires migrated to Nyx during the early expansion era. Current population estimates are under 100,000. Threat level is negligable.

Imperial Status

Due to the instability of the region and its association with the extinct pre-Empire species, the Midnight Sector is off-limits to all civilian and military travel. Unauthorized entry results in automatic reprimand.

Addendum

Despite the travel ban, intermittent signal bursts originating from Nyx have been recorded. Their content remains encrypted and undeciphered.
