It's been a hot minute, hasn't it? Where the frick did I disappear off to, you ask? Well, I've been making an app. See, I really like coloring books, and I've been trying to find an app for my tablet that functions the way I like without being pay walled up a wazoo. Apparently, that's an impossible combination. So...

I decided to make my own. 😌

For the past two weeks, from morning to night, that's been my day. Food, family, app. Add a new feature, fix a bug, create two new bugs, pull hair out trying to fix new bugs, get up to change a diaper, go to bed and lay awake obsessing over bug. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a blast making this thing, and I'm very proud of how it turned out.

The app is called Farbetin, or 'color tin', using the German word for 'color'. Yknow. Like a tin of paints or whatever. Yes, I know I'm very clever. 😁 The app is only available on PC at the moment, but it should work on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and function with most drawing tablets. There are still kinks to iron out, and there's more features I want to add, but the demo is available to download on itch.io.

Farbetin - Coloring Book App by SnowyFoxPhantom

Added a brand new page the the site. About a decade ago, I wrote a script for a little word count web app in the vein of Write or Die and Written? Kitten!. It was kinda crappy, but it was my first real javascript project. I figured it was time to give it a long needed facelift, so I converted it over to modern javascript and smoothed out the features a bit. It works with markdown, as well. But make sure you use the NekoWeb version of the site, since neocities doesn't let me upload audio files on the base tier.

Check it out on the sidebar under 'Tools.'

So neocities had a nasty hiccup this morning after some rando lawfirm in India sent a court order to Namecheap and somehow Namecheap interpretted that as 'take down Neocities', despite the domain not even being mentioned... don't ask me how that works. Either way, I've created a mirror of the site over on NekoWeb in case of any future issues. Sound files actually work there, too!
